Experiences with Phorms

Stefanie R., two kids, one at primary and one at secondary school, Phorms Campus Taunus

“My son had a fantastic time at the Phorms Kindergarten. He had great teachers and learnt a lot! They often went outside with the children where they explained and taught them in a very nice way. The English language got integrated really well and so the kids got eased into the language naturally. In the meantime, he attends the third grade at Phorms primary school, which is unbeatable: the team of teachers and the work they do; how they organise the lessons and motivate the children. They are all very patient with the kids. A lot is taught in a playful way and they really focus on the individual child and where they stand in their learning. Yes, Phorms doesn’t just advertise it, they do differentiate and focus on each child individually. They take their time to read between the lines, which is absolutely terrific.”

"Especially in secondary, the school really handles the Corona situation great. There are clear deadlines, so the kids know by when they have to be done with an assignment and sent it in. What's especially great is how reliable the teachers are online. If the kids have a question, they don't have to wait long, but get immediate feedback and can continue working on their assignments. It's a wonderful interaction! I have the impression that my oldest son is learning a lot, really great."

"Phorms in three words: bilingualism, academics  and joy! It really is a pretty great school. We as parents are super happy that our kids are here and we never get tired of emphasizing this either!"

"Why Phorms? We just wanted the kids to be at home anywhere in the world and they can do this with English. I never wanted them to be limited just because they don't speak the language well. And then it was also really important for us that it was a whole-day school."

"When my son was in second grade at Phorms, he came skipping out of school one day and said, Mum, thank you for letting me go to this school.' Which, of course, is the most wonderful thing a parent can experience. And he didn't just say that, he lived it, because we saw how comfortable he felt. Before that, he spent half a year at another public school, so he was able to see the difference in quality between the schools. Among other things, he said, 'The class is much quieter, here I can learn a lot."

“In my eyes, the selection of teachers at Phorms is very good. A big plus are native speakers who the kids have from reception onwards. The language aspect, the individual support, the teaching itself - all of this speaks for Phorms. The teachers take time to get to know the kids and the way of teaching is also great. The lessons are accessible to the kids: it’s not theory that needs to be learnt, it’s content from and about life. Dean brings home a lot of what he learnt in class without realizing that he just learnt a biology foundation. It's like he's being told a story and learning from it; it's well conceptualised.”

"Of course, we have invested quite a bit, but we can just see that it has borne fruit. Our oldest son wants to go to university later. What he learns at Phorms will be his foundation for studying - an excellent basis.”

“It is very important to me that my children learn English from native speakers. Knowing the immersion concept from Canada, where you can find many public French immersion schools , I believe it is the best concept to learn a foreign language.”

“At Phorms children are recognized as individuals. This is emotional strengthening and I believe emotionally strong children are less likely to bully and, ultimately, grow up to become good citizens.”

“I remember a school principle from Canada saying that schools are one third responsible for the successful education of children, just like the family and community as well, and leaving the child also one third responsible. The schools’ third should provide a high standard of education and inspiration, motivating the child to be open and inspired, while the family further supports the child. As a single mom I am deeply grateful that I can share these responsibilities with Phorms. I know my children receive a good education and spend their day in a friendly and safe learning environment, where they feel comfortable.”

Hermes, 14 Jahre alt, 8.
